Removal

1.Disconnect the switch wires at plug connector.
2.Remove two screws securing switch to column and lift switch from column.
top of the switch and install a No. 43 drill.

4.While holding selector lever against the stop in neutral position, place switch on column and install attach\-ing screws.
5.Remove the gauge 'pin and connect the wires to the switch.
Adjustment

1. With selector lever against neutral
stop, loosen two switch retaining
screws.
2.Rotate switch until a start is ob\-tained and tighten switch screws.
3.Place selector lever in "1" position and push the park reset button, lo\-cated on right side of switch, to the left until it stops. ~,~
1969 Fairlane Er Montego Console Removal & Adjustment

1.Remove selector lever handle from lever.
2.Remove trim panel from top of con\-sole.
3.Remove cover and dial indicator as an assembly.
4.Unfasten and remove lever retainer from housing.
5.Unfasten and remove the switch from the housing and disconnect wires at connector.
6.Position switch to housing and in\-stall screws and then move selector lever back and forth until gauge pin can be inserted into holes on switch, Fig. 4.
7.Slide switch forward or rearward until switch actuating lever contacts selector lever.
8.Tighten switch screws and remove gauge pin.
9.Connect wires to switch and replace components previously removed.
